About Wiang Sa Subdistrict

Wiang Sa (เวียงสระ) is a tambon within Wiang Sa District, Surat Thani. Provincial and national heritage sources identify the ancient town within this tambon, with surviving evidence of inner and outer settlement areas, moats, pools and religious remains around Wat Wiang Sa. The modern administrative area is wider than the ancient enclosure and is distinct from the whole district or the commercial centre in neighbouring Ban Song.

For a heritage visit, choose the specific temple or archaeological locality and check current local access information. Do not use a general district-centre result as the entrance location. The administrative reference centre represents the tambon rather than a moat crossing, temple gate or visitor facility.
