What has changed

Bangkok has published seating and live-screen locations for the Royal Barge Procession on Friday, 6 November. The city lists 7,400 seats across six sites, with 4,000 beneath Rama VIII Bridge. Its wider viewing plan identifies 15 locations along the Chao Phraya, seven on the eastern bank and eight on the western bank.

Where to watch

Besides Rama VIII Bridge, the seating allocation includes 1,500 places at Santichaiprakan Park, 1,000 at the 72nd Birthday Anniversary Park at Siriraj Hospital, 400 at a learning centre listed in the city notice, 300 at Wat Rakhang Khositaram and 200 beneath Somdet Phra Pinklao Bridge.

The city also plans five live screens across four sites. Two are at Santichaiprakan Park. The remaining screens are at Sathan Phimuk Garden at Siriraj Hospital, Tassanaphirom Plaza at the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall and beneath Rama VIII Bridge on the Thon Buri bank. Check the city notice for the precise site before choosing which bank to travel to.

The route and timing

The procession forms part of the Royal Kathin robe offering at Wat Arun. The Tourism Authority of Thailand says the barges will leave Wasukri Pier and pass Phra Sumen Fort, the Phra Pinklao Bridge, Siriraj Hospital and the Grand Palace before reaching Wat Arun. It describes an afternoon procession, with viewing areas expected to open from around 15:00. The city says the procession will consist of 52 barges.

Plan the return trip before setting out

Seating figures describe capacity. Check access arrangements for your chosen site and allow extra time if you need to cross the river. The Navy’s earlier reservation window for designated venues has closed. For any remaining access, consult its latest announcement. If your trip relies on a ferry or express boat, confirm the operator’s timetable for Friday separately.
