What has changed

Pattaya City’s deadline for removing boats and other belongings from a strip of land near Bali Hai Pier falls today, 31 October 2026. Officials want to return the space to public use and improve pedestrian access for people travelling to Koh Larn.

A report published by The Pattaya News on 30 October describes an approximately 40–50-metre stretch near the Waterfront Building. Thai-language reporting by MGR Online places the vacant area in front of Point Fortune, beside the Waterfront development.

A deadline, not confirmation of clearance

Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai says the city has asked those using the area to remove their boats and possessions. The reports describe boat storage and paid parking there, and say a land survey has been carried out.

The city’s position is that no private ownership documents have been presented for the strip. That is the officials’ account; this article does not independently determine land title or the outcome of any dispute.

What the city plans

The proposed improvements include a public walkway and additional lighting. Officials are also considering a small operational point, such as a container office or tent, where municipal staff and other agencies could assist pier users.

Those are plans for the adjoining space. They do not establish that the improvements are already open, or settle the separate legal questions surrounding the Waterfront Building itself.

Advice for pier users

Visitors travelling to Koh Larn should confirm their departure point with the boat operator and check current parking arrangements on arrival. Do not assume a previously used storage or parking area will remain available.

Allow time to walk to the boarding point, keep pedestrian access clear and follow any temporary directions from officials. The reporting does not announce a general suspension of ferry services or a pier-wide closure.

This deadline concerns public-land access beside the development. It is separate from Thailand Navigator’s earlier coverage of pontoon and boarding-area works at Bali Hai.
