What you need to know
What has changed
Pattaya is preparing for the International Bikini Beach Race on Saturday, 31 October, with fresh attention to road crossings, beach access and traffic as the Halloween weekend approaches.
The Pattaya News reported on 27 October that Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat chaired a readiness meeting involving city agencies, police, the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association and Central Pattaya. The race is a joint event by the city, the association and the shopping centre.
A 5km run on the sand
The 10th-anniversary edition starts and finishes on Pattaya Beach in front of Central Pattaya. The organiser’s announcement confirms a five-kilometre beach course, with the running and entertainment programme continuing from late afternoon into the evening.
The latest local report gives an approximate 5.30pm race start and describes a Glow Party and beach concert afterwards. Treat that time as a planning guide and check the final instructions supplied with an entry before travelling.
Temporary changes near the course
Officials are planning staff assistance at crossings and traffic management along the route. The report says umbrella operators in locks 65–73 and lock 74 have been asked to clear equipment after 8pm on 29 and 30 October and suspend operations on 31 October. Their normal service is expected to resume on the morning of 1 November.
Those arrangements concern the specified operating areas. Visitors should check with their usual beach operator or hotel about access rather than assuming the entire waterfront is closed.
Plan registration and the journey
Central Pattana’s earlier announcement advertised registration until 30 October. Check the organiser’s current registration channel for remaining places, the applicable entry price and kit-collection instructions before making a special trip.
For spectators and residents, leave extra time around Central Pattaya and agree a meeting point away from busy crossings. Keep pedestrian access clear and follow staff directions. Runners should prepare for sand underfoot, rather than treating the route as a paved road race.
