What you need to know
What has changed
Thai Airways has cancelled six flights between Bangkok and Taiwan on Friday, 23 October 2026, because of Typhoon Champi. The cancellations cover both directions on its Taipei and Kaohsiung services.
An airline notice republished by Thailand’s government information portal on 22 October lists the affected flights. The Nation independently reported the same six cancellations on 23 October.
Which flights are affected
- Bangkok to Taipei: TG632 and TG634.
- Taipei to Bangkok: TG633 and TG635.
- Bangkok to Kaohsiung: TG630.
- Kaohsiung to Bangkok: TG631.
The notice applies to these services on 23 October. It is not a statement that every airline’s Taiwan service has been cancelled, or that all later departures are suspended.
Check before travelling to the airport
Affected passengers should check the latest status through the THAI mobile application and the contact details associated with their booking. The official notice gives the THAI Contact Center in Thailand as +66 2 356 1111 and the Taiwan contact centre as +886 2 7753 7973.
If a journey includes an onward connection, check the complete itinerary when discussing alternatives. As practical trip-planning advice, keep the booking reference and any cancellation message ready, and confirm a replacement service before changing airport transfers or accommodation.
What remains uncertain
The published notice identifies cancellations but does not set out a general compensation, refund or rebooking entitlement. Passengers should ask the airline or their ticket seller which arrangements apply to their fare rather than assume another carrier’s disruption policy applies.
Weather-related operations can change. This report records the flights named in the notice reviewed on 23 October; the airline’s latest booking-specific update should guide an individual journey.
