About Bana Subdistrict
Bana (บานา) is a subdistrict of Mueang Pattani on the coastal and river-mouth side of Pattani city. A Community Development Department profile describes both coastal flats with muddy shore soils and lower inland ground, with the Pattani River passing through the area.
The profile places Bana within the historic port landscape of Pattani. Fine Arts Department research also records older canals in Bana that connected trading activity with waterways toward the bay. The historic port story should not be confused with a single surviving harbour entrance or with the entire modern urban area.
Choose a named community, institution or road junction as the destination. Shoreline and canal-side access varies between working and residential sites. Following sustained rain, ask about the specific approach rather than assuming every route through the low ground remains usable.
