About Ko Khao Yai Satun

Ko Khao Yai is an island in Pak Nam Subdistrict, La-Ngu District, within the Mu Ko Phetra marine area. It is unrelated to Khao Yai National Park in central Thailand. Older geographic records also use the name Ko Lala for the same Satun island.

Setting and highlights

The distinctive local attraction is Prasat Hin Phan Yot, where eroded limestone surrounds a sheltered inner feature. Other coastal formations and the natural bridge give the island a different character from a broad sandy beach destination.

Getting there

Boat and kayak excursions are associated with Pak Bara and the Ban Bo Chet Luk community. Arrange the exact route with a local provider and establish whether kayaking, boat viewing or a permitted shore stop is included.

Planning your visit

Passages through openings depend on the tide and conditions. Follow local guidance rather than entering a cave or channel independently. Confirm access to the specific formation; older general descriptions do not establish current entry arrangements or prices.
