About Ko Mak
This Ko Mak lies in Pak Phayun District, Phatthalung, within the Songkhla Lake system. It is the physical island within Ko Mak Subdistrict, not the same-named eastern Gulf island in Trat.
Fishing-village life and lake views are central to its character. Ban Chong Fuen is one community associated with local tourism, and community-development programmes describe craft activities and locally guided experiences rather than a single island-wide attraction.
Plan around the village or host you are visiting and confirm the approach and local transport in advance. If taking a lake excursion to smaller islands, agree on the route, landing permission and return with the boat provider.
Support community-run activities where available and ask before entering private fishing or residential areas. Lake weather can change, and access to individual conservation or bird-nesting islands may be restricted. The island itself should not be confused with the wider subdistrict's area or population.
