Ko Nu

Ko Nu is a physical island off Bo Yang in Mueang Songkhla District. Known in English as Rat Island, it lies south of the smaller Ko Maeo. It is separate from Ko Yo in Songkhla Lake and from other Thai islands whose names also translate as rat or mouse. Ko Nu is part of the cat-and-rat legend associated with Songkhla's seafront. Its surrounding waters have been surveyed for coral habitat by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources. Provincial tourism agencies have also assessed visitor risks and installed warning and trail-information signs on Ko Nu. The island can be appreciated as a coastal landmark from the Songkhla shore.
