About Ko Saba Subdistrict

Ko Saba (ตำบลเกาะสะบ้า) is a subdistrict of Thepha District, Songkhla. Provincial reporting describes foothill plains, Gulf shoreline and forest areas, rather than an offshore island despite the word ko in its name.

Local livelihoods include agriculture, small-scale fishing and work with krajood sedge, both cutting and weaving it. Provincial environmental reporting places parts of the Ko Saba sedge peatland in villages 4, 5 and 7 within the Khao Pa Chang–Laem Kham non-hunting area. This protected landscape is a particular part of a wider inhabited tambon.

Arrange craft or village visits with local hosts. Confirm current access before entering peatland or protected land; the reported May 2026 fire is historical context, not a live closure notice. Use the actual village or agreed meeting point rather than the administrative map reference.
