About Ko Surin Tai
Ko Surin Tai is one of the two main Surin islands in Mu Ko Surin National Park, off the northern Andaman coast of Phang Nga. Administratively it belongs to Ko Phra Thong Subdistrict in Khura Buri District. A narrow channel separates it from Ko Surin Nuea; the two islands are distinct parts of the same protected group.
The Moken community at Ao Bon is a central part of the island's cultural setting. Visits should respect that this is a living village rather than a staged attraction: ask before photographing people, follow local guidance and support community-run activities where offered. Reef excursions around the islands are arranged by permitted boats and depend on conditions.
The Department of National Parks announced the 2026 visitor season reopening from 15 October. Seasonal closure and short-notice restrictions still apply, so check the latest park announcement before travelling from the Khura Buri coast. Confirm whether your itinerary includes the village, snorkelling stops or an overnight stay based on the northern island.
