About Ko Tao Subdistrict

Ko Tao (เกาะเต่า) is a subdistrict of Ko Pha-Ngan District, Surat Thani. Community records describe an administrative area covering Ko Tao and Ko Nang Yuan, with the villages of Hat Sai Ri, Mae Hat and Chalok Ban Kao.

Ko Tao's granite hills and small coastal plains produce distinct bay and hillside settings. The administrative tambon therefore extends beyond any one beach, pier, diving area or individual tourism business.

The municipality describes passenger and cargo travel by sea, with mainland connections through Chumphon and Surat Thani. Confirm the particular pier, sailing and onward transport with the operator before travelling. The tambon's map reference is not a boat departure point or proof of access to a specific island site.
