About Ko Wai
Ko Wai lies near the Lao Ya islands within Ko Chang Tai Subdistrict in Trat. The northern coast is associated with sandy beaches and nearby coral, while the western side includes Ao Yai. The island combines overnight stays with visits by day boats, so the experience depends on which beach or accommodation landing the operator uses. It is separate from both Ko Chang and the larger inhabited islands of Ko Mak and Ko Kut.
Confirm a current sailing or private transfer and identify the correct beach landing with your host. Some boats serve excursion stops rather than every accommodation property. For snorkelling, ask about currents, visibility and any protected-area restrictions, and avoid standing on coral. Arrange overnight stays directly and check what meals, electricity and payment facilities your host supplies. Allow flexibility for weather-related changes to return boats.
