About this place

Ko Wua Ta Lap is the visitor headquarters island of Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park. Located in Ang Thong Subdistrict of Ko Samui District, it is an important landing and orientation point for exploring the surrounding limestone archipelago. The island combines a beach-level visitor area with a steep walk to the elevated archipelago viewpoint. Bua Bok Cave is another named natural feature. These are separate activities: allow for your fitness, the available time ashore and the paths that park staff permit on the day. The view from the hill is the principal reason many boat itineraries stop here. Travel on an authorised park itinerary and ask which walks are open before disembarking. Overnight use of the park's bungalow or tent areas requires advance confirmation through DNP; a day-tour ticket does not guarantee a stay. Bring suitable footwear for the climb. The 2026 seasonal closure declaration covers Ang Thong visitor sites and overnight facilities from 1 November to 15 December; short weather closures can also alter plans.
