About Ko Yo Subdistrict
Ko Yo (เกาะยอ) is a subdistrict of Mueang Songkhla on the island in the lower part of Songkhla Lake. Hillsides and foothill plains support mixed orchards, while fishing and fish cages form part of the lakeside landscape. Locally woven cloth and fruits such as champedak are distinctive elements of its community identity.
The Institute for Southern Thai Studies, part of Thaksin University, is based at Ban Ao Sai in Village 1. Its folklore museum provides a separate destination for learning about southern culture. This record describes the administrative tambon, with individual museums, weaving producers and visitor businesses requiring their own location and access details.
