About Maret Subdistrict
Maret (ตำบลมะเร็ต) is a subdistrict in Ko Samui District, Surat Thani. Government agricultural records identify Hua Thanon, Ban Han, Ban Thung, Lamai and Maret as its five village communities.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports locates Wat Lamai's folk museum within Maret. The collection preserves household objects, craft items and tools associated with older island livelihoods, including coconut gardening. These cultural places sit within a wider inhabited area, so Maret is not simply another name for Lamai Beach or one visitor attraction.
Use the intended village, temple or accommodation address for travel. Check museum access directly with the temple; a collection listing does not establish today's opening hours. Ko Samui's municipal statistics cover all seven island subdistricts, rather than Maret alone.
