About Na Thon Subdistrict
Na Thon (นาทอน) is a subdistrict of Thung Wa District, Satun. It includes Ban Wang Tong in Village 4, a community whose identity should be distinguished from the larger tambon.
The Anthropology Centre describes Wang Tong's small-scale fishing livelihoods, community conservation and the use of khlum wetland plants in basketry. Its account links local products with the care of natural resources. Community history also records Na Thon's separation from Thung Wa in 1972, placing today's villages within a changing administrative landscape.
Visitors interested in weaving or resource-management learning should contact the specific community group before travelling. Confirm the workshop or meeting place, and ask before entering wetland or working fishing areas. Craft production follows the group's own activity rather than whole-subdistrict opening hours; the general map reference does not identify a workshop entrance.
