About Nam Rop Subdistrict

Nam Rop (น้ำรอบ) is a subdistrict in Phunphin District, Surat Thani. The Land Development Department lists seven villages, including Nam Rop, Ko Klang, Thung Luang, Wihan, Don Matum, Tha Phak and Hua Wang.

The planning record describes predominantly level, low-lying land. Its local naming account links Nam Rop, meaning water around, with a settlement surrounded by waterways in the Phum Duang basin.

The same account connects Wat Nam Rop with the community's earlier Wat Ko Klang tradition. These are local historical narratives rather than independently dated founding events. Village names are useful for locating a specific destination within the wider tambon, which has a different scope from other places named Nam Rop.
