About Sala Mai Subdistrict

Sala Mai (ศาลาใหม่), code 960204, lies between Phrai Wan and the Tak Bai area in Narathiwat. A Community Development Department profile records a local account of a market known as Nat Kuching, followed by a newly built roadside shelter from which the present name developed. The same profile documents community development work across the tambon. Its coastal and inland settlements should be understood as parts of an administrative area rather than a single beach or market attraction.

For a visit, identify the specific village, fishing area or community group rather than navigating only to Sala Mai. Craft, food or farming activities need arrangements with the participating hosts. Coastal landing conditions are separate from road access to inland villages. Use the full Tak Bai address and confirm the final meeting point; the map marker represents the tambon and is not a currently operating market entrance.
