About Takua Pa Subdistrict
Takua Pa (ตำบลตะกั่วป่า) is a subdistrict in Takua Pa District, Phang Nga. The national environmental heritage database identifies Talat Yai as an older market community within this tambon.
The heritage account links its commercial development with the mining economy and describes surviving Sino-Portuguese buildings comparable with those in Phuket. It distinguishes the older market quarter from newer development around Phetkasem Road and records local efforts to sustain traditions such as the vegetarian festival.
Choose the exact old-town street, institution or market for a visit. Heritage buildings remain part of an inhabited neighbourhood, so respect residential and religious spaces. Event dates and access to individual buildings should be checked locally. This administrative area is separate from the Takua Pa namesake in Khon Kaen.
