About Than Nam Thip Subdistrict

Than Nam Thip (ธารน้ำทิพย์) is a subdistrict of Betong District, Yala. The local authority's history records its separation from Yarom in 1984 and identifies the communities of Than Nam Thip, Ba Tae Tu Ngae, Ka Pae Sa Lang and Cha Ro Su Su. Its development is distinct from that of Betong's urban centre.

The name is linked in the municipal history to the Malay expression Aiyer Berchang, referring to clear water. Local streams include Khlong Wang Suda, Khlong Aiyer Berchang and Khlong Ka Pae. The same account records Guangxi Chinese community names alongside Malay village naming traditions, giving the tambon a particular cultural and settlement history.

Use a named village and full Betong address for directions. Historical name meanings do not establish present drinking-water quality, and the administrative map reference is not a stream access point, council entrance or a designated border-crossing location.
