What you need to know
What has changed
Bangkok residents and visitors should plan for scattered showers with gusty winds today, 2 November, according to the Thai Meteorological Department’s latest daily forecast. A separate weekly outlook identifies 4–6 November as a period when the capital could see isolated heavy rain.
Today’s Bangkok forecast
The daily forecast covers 06:00 on 2 November to 06:00 on 3 November, Thailand time. For metropolitan Bangkok, TMD expects scattered thundershowers with gusts, minimum temperatures of 24–25°C and maximum temperatures of 34–35°C. Southeasterly winds are forecast at 10–20 kilometres per hour.
TMD says another high-pressure system from China is extending towards the upper Northeast and the South China Sea, while easterly winds continue over Thailand and surrounding seas.
Why the rest of the week matters
The department’s 1–7 November outlook, issued on 1 November, also tracks an easterly wave expected to cross several regions, including Bangkok and surrounding areas, during 3–5 November.
Its Bangkok-specific forecast calls for isolated to scattered showers on 1–3 November, followed by scattered showers with gusts and isolated heavy rain on 4–6 November. Those dates describe a forecast risk, rather than confirmation that heavy rain will occur in every district.
Practical precautions
Keep outdoor plans flexible and consult the latest forecast before setting off. The daily outlook identifies showers and gusts today; the heavier-rain window later in the week warrants another check closer to the intended travel time.
TMD advises people to avoid exposed outdoor areas, large trees and unsecured billboards during severe weather. Its weekly caution also warns that heavy or accumulated rainfall can cause flooding and other hazards, especially in vulnerable low-lying areas and near waterways.
This is a weather forecast, not a report of a current flood or a citywide transport closure. Check TMD’s daily forecast and radar for updates as conditions develop.
