What has changed
Bangkok’s final full-dress rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession is scheduled for Wednesday, 28 October, giving residents and visitors another opportunity to watch the ceremonial fleet on the Chao Phraya River before the Royal Kathin Ceremony on 6 November.
Fresh reporting on 26 October repeats the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s invitation to spectators. The rehearsal date is also confirmed in TAT’s official guide and Thai PBS World’s account of the first full-dress rehearsal on 21 October.
Choose a viewing location carefully
TAT identifies viewing areas along both riverbanks between Krung Thon Bridge and Wat Arun. Its guide describes a fleet of 52 barges with 2,200 Royal Thai Navy personnel, arranged in a formation stretching more than a kilometre.
The latest Thaiger report lists locations including Santichaiprakan Park, Tha Maharaj, Wat Arun and Chaloem Phra Kiat 72 Phansa Park. It says advance registration is required for Nagaraphirom Park. Check the current admission instructions for the chosen location; a general invitation does not guarantee access to every reserved area.
Check the day’s timing
There is a difference in the published timing information. TAT’s earlier official guide gives an approximate 2.30pm start for rehearsals, while the 26 October report describes movement at 3pm. Verify the latest Navy or TAT instructions before setting off and allow time to reach the viewing area.
The 28 October occasion is a rehearsal. The Royal Kathin Ceremony at Wat Arun is scheduled for 6 November; the dates should not be confused when making plans.
Leave flexibility in the journey
As practical advice, confirm any ferry, riverboat, hotel shuttle or dinner-cruise booking directly with its operator for that date. Do not assume an ordinary sailing or riverside reservation includes access to a designated viewing area.
Choose a meeting point, carry water and rain protection, and follow barriers and staff instructions. For changing tourism information, TAT’s official guide directs travellers to its contact centre on 1672.
