What has changed

Work to disconnect the existing overhead power-line system on Jomtien Second Road is planned to begin in early November, according to a new report on Pattaya City’s utility coordination meeting on 29 October.

The update concerns the transition to underground infrastructure. It does not announce a blanket electricity shutdown across Jomtien or give a confirmed interruption time for individual customers.

Two roads, different stages

The Provincial Electricity Authority reported preparations for the Jomtien Second Road transition, including removal of existing poles and cables, The Pattaya News reports. National Telecom separately said the main communications duct and cable transfer on Pattaya Second Road were almost complete, with remaining work targeted for completion before 30 November 2026.

These are different parts of the programme. The Pattaya Second Road target should not be read as a guarantee that every power or communications connection throughout Jomtien will be finished on the same date.

Check notices for your own premises

Residents, hotels and businesses should look for a specific notice from their electricity or communications provider before changing operating plans. Ask whether your address is affected, what work is scheduled and whether access or service will be interrupted.

If you rely on powered medical equipment or need continuous connectivity for work, discuss arrangements directly with your provider and building manager. The report does not establish an area-wide outage duration.

Another project still needs permission

The meeting also reviewed a proposed water-pipeline extension near Soi Paniad Chang 8. Permission to cut into the concrete road is required before installation can proceed. A discussion of that project is not confirmation that excavation has begun.

For local travel, follow temporary signs and keep entrances clear where works are taking place. Detailed street-by-street access restrictions were not included in the update.
