About Bang Pu Subdistrict

Bang Pu (บางปู) is a subdistrict of Yaring District, Pattani, on the edge of Pattani Bay. Mangrove forest, tidal channels and fishing communities distinguish it from inland Yaring and from the unrelated Bang Pu area near Bangkok.

Provincial tourism information describes several community groups offering ways to learn about the mangroves and local fishing life. Excursions can include boat trips through overhanging mangrove channels, birdwatching and activities linked with shellfish and conservation. The community programme and the administrative tambon have different boundaries and should not share one assumed entrance or operating schedule.

Contact the chosen community group before travelling to confirm the pier, tides, weather, boat arrangements and return time. Wear suitable sun and rain protection and follow the boat crew's safety instructions. Mangroves and fishing grounds remain working environments, so use organised access and avoid disturbing wildlife.
