About Kapao Subdistrict
Kapao (กะเปา) is a subdistrict in Khiri Rat Nikhom District, Surat Thani. The local authority describes a mixture of lower plains, higher ground and foothill slopes.
The district agricultural office's 2026 plan identifies steeper mountains on the western side towards Ratchaprapha Reservoir, including Khao Chi Chan. Central ground is higher, while the eastern part is lower-lying.
Tha Khanon and Yan Yao are neighbouring tambons within Khiri Rat Nikhom, with Ban Ta Khun District on the western and southern sides. Kapao is a wider administrative destination, not a reservoir entrance or boat pier; use the village and individual-site address when planning a particular journey.
