About Kia Subdistrict
Kia (เกียร์), also written Gear by its local authority, is a tambon of Sukhirin District in inland Narathiwat. Its landscape is mountainous and wooded, with farming communities distributed among the hills. The council's development plan identifies rubber plantations and fruit orchards as important livelihoods, alongside some oil-palm cultivation and small-scale trading.
The local authority explains Kia's name through the Malay word for deer and uses a deer in its emblem. Its geographical description places Rom Sai to the north, Ma Mong to the south and Sukhirin Subdistrict to the west, helping distinguish Kia from the wider district that contains it.
Use the specific village or destination when arranging a journey through this hill country. The subdistrict map point represents the administrative area rather than a council office, trailhead or attraction entrance.
