About Ko Lanta Noi

Ko Lanta Noi is a physical island in Ko Lanta District, distinct from the wider district and the same-named subdistrict. It is the quieter, more locally oriented of the two principal Lanta islands; Ko Lanta Yai to the south holds most of the better-known beach accommodation. The district office is on Lanta Noi.

The island is an important part of the road approach to Lanta Yai. The existing Siri Lanta bridge connects the two islands, while the mainland crossing has traditionally used a vehicle ferry. Government announcements in 2026 concern a new mainland-to-Lanta-Noi bridge project; this should not be mistaken for a completed replacement crossing.

Allow time to explore the island's villages and coast rather than treating it solely as a transfer corridor. Check current ferry operations, queues and the road arrangements for your journey, especially when returning to the mainland for a flight. The island's local piers serve different purposes, so use the meeting point specified by your transport provider.
