About Ko Phayam Subdistrict
Ko Phayam (เกาะพยาม) is an offshore subdistrict of Mueang Ranong. Agricultural Extension and government studies identify two principal village communities: Ban Ko Phayam in Village 1 and Ban Ko Chang in Village 2.
The administrative tambon therefore should not be equated solely with the physical island of Ko Phayam. Its island communities have their own settlements, agricultural activities and travel arrangements. Ranong's Ko Chang must also be distinguished from the much larger Ko Chang in Trat. The retained point is an administrative reference for the multi-island area, not a ferry pier; choose the actual island and landing when planning a journey.
