About Ko Phi Phi Don
Ko Phi Phi Don is the largest island in the Phi Phi group and its main base for accommodation, restaurants and boat services. It belongs to Ao Nang Subdistrict in Mueang Krabi District. The narrow central land between Tonsai Bay and Loh Dalum Bay is the island's most recognisable feature and the focus of the main settlement.
Tonsai is the principal arrival area, while other bays, including Loh Ba Kao and Laem Tong, offer different bases around the coast. Check the exact arrival pier and onward transfer for your accommodation: a ticket to Phi Phi does not necessarily take you to a hotel on another part of the island.
Passenger boats connect with the Krabi and Phuket coasts, subject to operator schedules and sea conditions. Phi Phi Don is separate from Phi Phi Le, home to Maya Bay, so visits to the latter require an additional boat trip and compliance with its own park access rules. Confirm protected-area charges and current notices for the specific places you intend to visit.
