About Ko Poda

Ko Poda lies south of Ao Nang in Mueang Krabi District. The island is known for its white sand, clear shallows and wooded interior, with a limestone outcrop offshore providing a recognisable backdrop to the beach. Its mapped geographic identity is also recorded as Ko Po Da Nai, distinct from nearby Ko Po Da Nok or Chicken Island.

A visit is normally a boat excursion rather than an overland destination. Krabi itineraries often combine Poda with Thale Waek and the Railay coast, but the number of stops and time ashore depend on the particular trip. Check where your boat departs, which beach it uses and how the return pickup works before setting out.

The island is within the Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi protected marine area. Confirm current admission and access arrangements with the park or operator. Stay clear of boat landing lanes when swimming, avoid standing on coral and follow staff instructions if wind, waves or conservation restrictions affect a stop.
