About Ko Surin Nuea
Ko Surin Nuea is the larger northern main island in Mu Ko Surin National Park, Phang Nga. It lies in Ko Phra Thong Subdistrict, Khura Buri District, across a narrow channel from Ko Surin Tai. Wooded shores, beaches and shallow reef areas give it a different character from a developed resort island.
The park's island accommodation and campsites are on Surin Nuea, including the Ao Chong Khad and Ao Mai Ngam areas. Availability and the permitted places to stay are controlled by the park; confirm the specific campsite or accommodation and boat arrangements before travelling. A day-trip ticket does not establish an overnight booking.
The Department of National Parks reopened the 2026 visitor season from 15 October, but current weather and conservation notices remain decisive. Boats commonly use the Khura Buri coast as a gateway, and snorkelling locations are selected according to conditions. Follow ranger instructions, stay within open visitor areas and avoid standing on coral or disturbing marine life.
