About Krong Pinang Subdistrict

Krong Pinang (กรงปินัง) is a subdistrict within the larger district of the same name in Yala. The name is associated with the Malay expression for an areca-palm village, recalling an earlier local economy in dried areca nuts and river trade. It should be distinguished from the district as a whole.

The Pattani River is central to local geography and livelihoods. Ban Lue Mu in Moo 8 is one of the subdistrict's river-side communities, where public discussions about water management reflect the river's continuing importance. Settlements, cultivation and the surrounding hill country make up a wider lived-in area rather than one landmark with a single entrance.

Give the village or institution name when arranging a pickup. District services can also be in neighbouring Sa-Ae, so confirm the full address. For river-side visits, obtain local directions and check conditions after sustained rain; community spaces and working land require the relevant host's agreement.
