About Mae Dong Subdistrict
Mae Dong (แม่ดง) is a tambon of Waeng District, Narathiwat. The local authority's history records its separation from Kho Lo Subdistrict in 1980. The council describes an agricultural area southwest of the district centre, with Ma Mong in neighbouring Sukhirin District on its western side and Lo Chut to the south.
Water is an important part of its local geography. Khlong Waeng runs through the northern area and supports household and agricultural use, while the official profile also identifies ponds at Chue Rae, Bue Nae Ka Rae and Mae Dong. These are named local water bodies, not evidence that each is an equipped recreation site.
When travelling here, use the village name and full Waeng District address. Mae Dong's administrative reference point should not be treated as an entrance to a pond or the location of the council's service counter.
