About Maluan Subdistrict

Maluan (มะลวน) is a subdistrict in Phunphin District, Surat Thani. District education records identify nine villages, including Talat Maluan, Don Faek, Ban Klang, Ton Pap, Huai Kruat, Phai Phra and Khlong Sin Thong.

Wat Huai Krot School in Village 6 is one long-established local institution. Its published history dates the start of teaching to 1939 and describes a service area spanning several Maluan villages.

Maluan is the wider administrative area, rather than the school grounds or a single village centre. The named village and institution provide a more useful address for local enquiries. Service-area figures for a school or council should be kept separate from population totals for all nine villages.
