About Ngao Subdistrict
Ngao (หงาว) is a subdistrict in Mueang Ranong District, Ranong. The local municipality identifies Wat Ban Ngao and Phu Khao Ya, the distinctive grass-covered hills, among the area's landmarks.
Mangrove environments are another part of Ngao's identity. The local authority records the Ngao mangrove research centre as a place for learning about coastal woodland and the marine life supported by it.
These are separate destinations within a wider tambon, rather than one combined attraction. Confirm the particular temple, hill or mangrove-learning site before travelling, and check its own access arrangements. This Ngao is distinct from the same-name subdistrict in Thoeng, Chiang Rai.
