About Rawai Subdistrict
Rawai (ราไวย์) is a subdistrict at the southern end of Phuket, adjoining Chalong to the north and the Andaman Sea to the south. Its municipal development plan includes territory on Phuket itself and on surrounding islands.
The seven village communities include Nai Harn, Rawai, Ko Lon, Bang Khonthi, Laem Phromthep and Sai Yuan. This wider administrative scope is important: Rawai Beach, the cape and offshore settlements are individual locations, not interchangeable names for the whole tambon. An island journey needs a specific landing and operator arrangement rather than directions to the administrative reference point.
