About Tarutao Islands
Ko Tarutao is the principal island in this eastern cluster, with wooded hills, coastal bays and historic penal-settlement sites. The broader Tarutao National Park incorporates both this group and the farther-west Adang-Rawi islands. This page covers the eastern geographic group rather than using the national-park name for the same boundary. Ko Tarutao itself remains a separate island record within Ko Sarai Subdistrict.
Arrange a boat from the Satun coast and confirm whether the service lands on Tarutao or travels onward towards Lipe. Different bays on the main island require different arrival and onward plans. Ask the park directly about current camping, accommodation and historic-site access. The 2026 closure notice distinguishes Tarutao accommodation and camping from restrictions elsewhere in the marine park; do not assume one island closure applies to every island group.
