About Tha Thong Subdistrict

Tha Thong (ท่าธง) is a subdistrict of Raman District, Yala. It is distinct from Thai subdistricts named Tha Thong with the different spelling ท่าทอง. Its villages include Ban Charang Tadong in Moo 2, a community beside the Sai Buri River.

The river and adjoining wetlands shape life here. Water spreads into areas associated with Phru Lan Khwai during seasonal high flows, helping store floodwater but also affecting fields and homes when levels rise. The local community record highlights farming, traditional Malay houses and the relationship between settlement and floodplain.

For a cultural or countryside visit, identify the village and agree a host or meeting point. Old houses may be private residences, and river or wetland access should be arranged locally. Ask about current water levels and road conditions after rain; a wetland landscape description does not establish an open boardwalk, boat service or public landing. Give both Raman and Yala when discussing transport.
