About Wang Phaya Subdistrict

Wang Phaya (วังพญา) is a subdistrict in Raman District, Yala. Local accounts associate its name with rice-growing land used by the former ruler of Kota Baru. The local-authority office is at Ban Paka Samae, while settlements elsewhere in the tambon include Wang Phaya, U Po and Bukit Chue Kha.

The terrain is mainly lowland, with some plains and low earthen hills. Farming includes rubber, fruit, rice, oil palm and livestock. The authority's disaster plan describes road connections towards neighbouring Tha Thong, Koto Tuera and Noen Ngam, as well as the Mueang Yala side, making the village name important for the final approach.

Low-lying parts receive runoff from surrounding areas and can flood during wet periods. Check local notices before using small roads after heavy rain. For a public service, school or community visit, obtain the precise entrance and address; the tambon's geographic reference point is not the local-authority office.
