About this place
Wat Pho is the temple complex beside Bangkok’s Grand Palace, known for its reclining Buddha and traditional Thai learning and massage heritage.
Make the reclining Buddha and a short circuit of the courtyards the focus of a visit. Combine it with the nearby Grand Palace only if the heat and walking suit your group, and leave a proper lunch break between the two. Admission and massage services are separate decisions; consult the temple’s current information before paying.
The temple gives its location along Sanam Chai and Maharaj roads in Phra Nakhon. Use the actual visitor entrance indicated on arrival. Dress respectfully, remove shoes where requested and follow worship-area and photography instructions.
