About Ri Ko Subdistrict

Ri Ko (ริโก๋), also written Rigo, is a subdistrict in Su-Ngai Padi District, Narathiwat. Its local authority places it south of the district office, with the Bukit Tawe mountain area to the west, Paluru to the north, Sako to the south and Kawa to the east.

A local account connects the name with water flowing beneath a channel embankment, reflecting the importance of streams in the area's history. This is a village and agricultural landscape rather than an urban resort centre. The official administrative spelling is useful when distinguishing the tambon from individual communities and businesses using similar transliterations.

For a household or community visit, obtain a village name and an agreed meeting point before departure. The western upland boundary does not establish an open walking trail, and canals or agricultural tracks may cross private land. Ask your host about the intended route and any access arrangements rather than navigating only to the subdistrict's reference point.
