About Rom Sai Subdistrict

Rom Sai (ร่มไทร) is a subdistrict of Sukhirin District, Narathiwat. Its local authority describes foothill plains, steep wooded hills and land used for agriculture. It meets Phadung Mat to the north, Sako to the east, Chanae to the west and Kia within Sukhirin to the south.

The community history reflects the development of southern resettlement schemes and the arrival of families from different parts of Narathiwat and neighbouring southern provinces. This helps explain a village-based landscape whose identity is wider than one settlement or government office. The whole-tambon map point is for orientation, not a public attraction entrance.

Arrange a visit around a particular village or host. Rain is frequent in the hill-and-forest setting, and routes away from main roads should be checked locally before departure. Respect working farms and household land, and confirm any community activity directly rather than expecting a fixed daily visitor programme.
